St. Kevin's Church

The construction of St. Kevin's Roman Catholic Church began on St. Kevin's Day, 1846. Father Matthew, founder of the Irish Temperance movement, was present to bless the foundation stone. The area was devastated by famine, necessitating cutbacks before the eventual completion in 1851.
